Podgorica Airport is one of two international airports in Montenegro. The second is Tivat in the north of the country. Access from the airport in Podgorica by public transport is virtually impossible. It is located about 12 km from the city center and traffic on it is not big. Perhaps that is why city lines do not go there. Directly you can get only by taxi. There is also the possibility of reaching by train, however, it is connected with a 1.4 kilometer walk from the Aerodrom station.

The train departs from the main railway station in Podgorica, located a bit from the center, but right next to the bus station. In turn, the Aerodrom station is the first station behind Podgorica. It is an ordinary concrete world. You can see it in the picture below.

You just need to check the timetable carefully, because not all trains stop there. The ticket can be bought at the ticket office, which is more expensive by 0.2 Euro or by the conductor. From the Aerodrom station, however, it is still about 1.4 km to the airport terminal itself. Initially, you walk comfortably along a dirt road later along the main access road to the airport without a large shoulder, but it is not a long stretch so there is nothing to worry about. As for the taxi, I recommend the redtaxi company because of the good rate of 0.5 Euro per km. It’s without any additional costs. Only the distance is taken into price. After making an appointment for travel from the airport, the driver will be waiting for you at the airport with a card with your name. Trains run quite rarely so a taxi can be the only option.
